Spiff has a possibility for doing semantic searches:
With this possibity of semantic searches; spiff allows you to do semantic searches, that is, finding semantically similar images in the image archives of the national library. There are three basic sources that you may search in:
- The image itself with similar content matching your description
- The metadata for the image (extracted from nb.no)
- The ocr text from the image
The search can be done multiple languages (i.e.English,Norwegian, Italian etc). Here is an example in Italian. The result of this search looks like this:
